DEUTZ welcomes new apprentices

  • 20 apprentices embark on their careers at the Cologne site
  • New apprentices also starting in Ulm and Herschbach

Cologne, October 5, 2020 – DEUTZ AG has welcomed its latest group of apprentices. Twenty young men and women have now begun their fledgling careers at the site in Cologne. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s induction events were held for the first time on two separate days, September 1 and October 1, and featured a mix of classroom-based and virtual sessions.

Dr. Andreas Strecker, member of the Board of Management responsible for finance, human resources, purchasing, and information services, sent a video message to welcome the apprentices in which he wished them good luck for their first day. “I am delighted that so many young people have chosen to do their apprenticeship at DEUTZ. We believe it is important to give talented young individuals, who will be the innovators of the future, the training they need to thrive in the world of work,” said Dr. Strecker in his welcome video. DEUTZ offers apprenticeships in six different engineering and IT occupations.

The Company also welcomed new apprentices at its sites in Ulm and Herschbach. Four future industrial mechanics were taken on in Ulm and two budding milling machine operators were brought on board in Herschbach.
